Perforated Metal Public Toilet: Shading by Day, Illuminating by Night

Design a public toilet wrapped in perforated metal, using the same skin to give privacy by day and light by night. Show the building as a simple box entirely clad in perforated sheet in a warm bronze anodised finish, its perforation pattern varying in density — dense and nearly solid at eye level, opening up toward the top and bottom so air passes and the mass lightens. Detail the sheets as large panels with slim recessed joints and concealed fixings, wrapping the corners without a trim. Show the day condition as opaque from outside: the pattern reads as a solid textured surface while daylight filters through to the interior in a fine dappled pattern. Detail the night condition, shown in the same image through a partial view or a reflection, as the reverse — internal light escaping through the perforations so the whole box becomes a softly glowing lantern with the pattern reading as points of light.
