Render the interior of a major Taiwanese temple hall in the manner of Wang Yi-shun, the Quanzhou master carpenter whose work brought a tall, open and technically ambitious frame to Taiwan. Show an unusually lofty space with slender columns rising high before the first beam, giving vertical proportion rather than the low horizontal feel of a village temple. Build the frame with long clear spans and layered bracket clusters cantilevering far out from each column head, the joints precise and the members refined in section. Include a spiralling octagonal coffered dome overhead as the centrepiece, its tiers converging tightly. Detail the timber in dark red-brown with disciplined gold leaf on carved edges only, avoiding all-over gilding. Show stone columns at the perimeter and a granite floor. Light from high side openings so shafts fall through the upper frame while the floor stays dim. Include incense haze catching the light. Photorealistic, tall, technically confident and restrained, view looking up into the frame.
