Design a public sculpture assembled entirely from discarded manufactured objects, where every component is still identifiable as what it was. Show a large coherent form some seven metres tall — a standing figure, an animal, a wave — whose overall silhouette reads clearly from a distance but which dissolves on approach into hundreds of separate salvaged parts. Detail those parts as a specific and consistent category rather than random junk: only bicycle frames and wheels, or only kitchen utensils, or only obsolete telephone handsets, welded and bolted together into a dense openwork mass. Show the density as varying across the form — packed tight where the silhouette needs to read solid, opening into visible voids where the light should pass through — so the piece is porous and the sky shows through its edges. Detail the finish as left entirely unpainted, the mixed metals showing their own histories: chrome pitted to rust, aluminium dulled, enamel chipped, a few original colours surviving in patches. Show the welds as visible and unfinished. Detail the shadow it throws as an intricate lace of overlapping shapes. Set it on a paved plaza outside a civic building. Show hard sun for a complex shadow.
