Design park seating in the postmodern manner of the nineteen-eighties, assembled from clashing geometric primitives with no attempt at unity. Show a bench built as a collage: a fat cylindrical column at one end acting as an armrest, a stepped ziggurat form at the other, a triangular pediment floating above the backrest supported on two thin sticks, and a flat seat plane running between them. Detail each element in a different material and colour — the cylinder in a glossy tiled turquoise, the ziggurat in pink-tinted render, the pediment in laminate with a black-and-white chequer edge, the seat in bleached ash — so nothing matches and the mismatch is plainly deliberate. Show thin painted lines and small applied squares decorating the plain surfaces, and a squiggle motif incised into the render. Detail the proportions as slightly cartoonish, everything a touch too thick or too thin to be structurally earnest. Show the finishes as beginning to date badly: the turquoise glaze crazed, the pink render faded unevenly, the laminate lifting at one corner.
