Design a park bench immediately after heavy rain has stopped. Show the timber transformed by water: the slats darkened several shades from silver-grey to a deep saturated brown, the grain swollen and raised so every ring and fibre stands out in relief, and the colour variation between boards suddenly much stronger than it is when dry. Detail the water itself in three states across the object — a thin even film still lying on the flattest slats, individual beads standing proud on the more weathered ones where the surface still repels, and a row of drops hanging along the lower edge of the seat, one mid-fall. Show a small pool caught in the dished centre of the seat holding a bright mirror of the sky. Detail the metal frame as showing fresh orange rust bleeding in fine streaks from each bolt head down the leg. Show the paving beneath as fully wet and mirror-like, returning an inverted image of the bench and the tree above it, with a scatter of raindrop rings still disturbing the surface. Detail the light as the bright silvery break just after a storm, the sky pale and luminous. Set it on a park path with wet foliage.
