Design a hotel bar in the manner of Joseph Dirand, elegantly severe. Build the bar as a long monolithic counter of pale grey-veined marble with a precise mitred edge, backed by a full-height wall of antique mirror divided into slim bays by fine brass mullions, holding bottles on narrow brass shelves. Keep the walls in flat matte off-white above a marble wainscot with one clean capping line running level throughout. Furnish with a continuous banquette in a dove-grey velvet with tight seams, small round marble tables on slim brass bases, and low tub chairs in caramel leather. Hang a row of identical slim brass wall lights at exactly equal spacing. Detail the floor in large-format marble with a subdued vein.
