Design a public sculpture whose entire effect is apparent instability. Show five or six large geometric blocks — a cube, a slab, a wedge, a cylinder lying on its side — stacked vertically to a height of nine metres, each one placed off-centre on the one below so the stack zigzags upward and the topmost block overhangs the base by several metres. Detail every contact point as improbably small: corner meeting face, edge balanced on edge, a cylinder resting on a single tangent line, so at each junction the eye insists the stack cannot hold. Show the concealed steel armature as genuinely invisible, with no visible bolt, bracket or shim anywhere, and the joints between blocks as clean dark shadow lines. Detail the blocks in a single uniform material — smooth cast concrete with a fine sand finish, all the same pale grey — so nothing distracts from the geometry and the composition reads purely as mass and balance. Show the topmost overhanging block casting its shadow onto the paving well away from the base, emphasising the cantilever. Detail people standing beneath the overhang, slightly wary. Set it on an open plaza with a low horizon. Show hard sun for strong shadows. Photorealistic, precarious, pale grey blocks against blue, low upward view.
