Design an enormous urban canopy in the manner of Jürgen Mayer H., covering an entire city square with one continuous timber structure. Show six mushroom-like forms rising from the paving on thick tapering trunks and spreading overhead into a single undulating canopy some twenty-five metres above the ground, so the square reads as sheltered by a grove rather than roofed by a building. Detail the canopy as a deep waffle grid of laminated birch veneer members crossing at right angles, the lattice roughly one and a half metres deep, its square openings dropping broken daylight onto the paving as a shifting field of light and shade. Show the timber in a pale honey tone with a matte coating, every crossing a simple lapped joint so the construction logic stays legible from below. Detail a walkway running along the crest of the undulating surface with a few small figures on it, giving the scale away. Set it in a dense old-city square with ochre plastered buildings pressing in on every side. Show midday sun so the grid shadow is at its sharpest.
