Design a monumental public sculpture in the manner of Anish Kapoor, conceived as a mirror that swallows its surroundings. Show a vast rounded form roughly twenty metres long and ten high, its shape derived from a drop of liquid mercury caught at the moment of settling — swelling at the centre, tapering at both ends, and pinched upward beneath so it barely seems to touch the plaza. Detail the surface as hundreds of stainless steel plates welded together and then ground and polished until every seam has disappeared entirely, leaving one unbroken mirror with no joint, no fixing and no visible structure anywhere on it. Show the reflection as the work's entire content: the city skyline wrapping and bending around the convex flank, the sky stretched across the top, and the crowd distorted into a wide arc along the lower curve. Detail the concave underside as a deep polished chamber where reflections multiply and invert into a spiralling vortex, with people standing beneath looking up into their own repeated images.
