Design a bedroom in the Japanese Interior tradition, organised entirely around a low sitting height. Compose it with a tatami floor laid in the traditional pattern, a futon or very low platform bed, and shoji screens filtering the daylight into an even glow across the whole room. Expose the slender timber posts and include a tokonoma alcove holding one scroll and a single stem. Keep the palette to tatami green, paper white, natural cedar and charcoal.
