Design the main lantern of a Taiwanese Lantern Festival for the Year of the Ox, about 13 metres tall, in the traditional craft manner. Build the ox on a hand-bent bamboo frame skinned in hand-painted silk, its powerful shoulders and lowered head modelled as if pulling a plough. Paint the silk in a deep russet and gold with hand-brushed rice-ear and cloud motifs flowing across the body, and a border of traditional key-fret pattern along the base. Add a carved wooden yoke and a painted plough behind it as part of the composition, referencing agricultural heritage. Light entirely from within with warm sources so the bamboo ribs show through the silk. Set it on a raised platform of stone and timber with painted panels depicting farming scenes around its base. Flank it with tall poles carrying red palace lanterns and calligraphic banners. Show a warm night scene with crowds and hanging lantern strings overhead. Photorealistic, warm, crafted and rooted in agrarian tradition, eye-level view.
