Show a five-metre length of aluminium forced through a die under enormous pressure, so the bench's entire side elevation — legs, seat, backrest, armrest — exists as one closed extruded profile repeated identically along the whole length. Detail the surface as covered in fine longitudinal striations running the full length, the marks left by the die as the metal was forced through, giving a texture like brushed rock strata rather than a machined finish. Show the two cut ends as the most revealing view: a raw sawn face exposing the hollow chambered section inside, its internal webs and voids visible like a cross-section through a bone. Detail the metal as bare mill-finish aluminium, cool silver-grey, faintly iridescent where the striations catch light, with no paint and no applied detail anywhere. Show its considerable mass implied by how it sits directly on the paving with no feet. Set it in a paved park plaza with clipped hedges behind. Show raking side light to bring out the striations.
