Design a hotel entry water garden in the manner of Raymond Jungles, combining still water with dramatic single-species planting. Set a large rectangular reflecting pool with a dark lining and a razor-sharp stone edge, spanning most of the entry court. Plant a single species repeated in a strict rhythm along one side — a row of identical sculptural palms with clean trunks, evenly spaced — so their trunks and canopies reflect in the water as a repeating pattern. Keep the opposite side entirely open and paved in large pale stone slabs with fine joints. Place a group of three boulders in their natural state at one end as a counterpoint to the geometry. Add a dense low mass of a single bold-leaved groundcover at the pool's far edge. Allow no flowering colour, no mixed planting, no furniture.
