Design a bus shelter whose entire character comes from a filtering screen. Show a simple rectangular frame enclosed on three sides and overhead by a dense grid of slim vertical and horizontal members — a deep timber lattice with cells about 80 millimetres square and members 40 millimetres deep — so the screen has real thickness and the view through it changes completely as one moves past. Detail the roof made from the same lattice rather than a solid sheet, so the shelter offers dappled shade rather than rain protection, with the light falling through as a shifting checkerboard on the bench and the ground. Show the timber as a warm hardwood, oiled, with the end grain visible at every member's cut end. Detail the bench as a simple slatted plane in the same timber and section, so it belongs to the screen system. Set it on a sunny street with a wall behind that also catches the pattern.
