Design a bakery interior in the manner of Vincent Van Duysen, monastic and warm at once. Build the room around a series of thick plastered arches springing directly from the floor with no visible base, dividing the space into bays and framing the view to the ovens beyond. Finish everything — arches, walls, ceiling and the counter mass — in the same hand-applied warm greige lime plaster, so the room reads as carved from a single material. Set the display counter as a solid plastered block with a top of warm limestone, holding bread on plain linen and timber boards. Add deep niches in the bays, each holding a single object or a stack of loaves, lit from a concealed warm source. Keep the floor in large warm limestone slabs. Use solid oak for the doors and one long bench, with no visible hardware. Allow no signage, no colour, no metal on show. Show soft daylight from one high window raking across the arches to reveal their curvature. Photorealistic, quiet, weighty and warm, eye-level view through the arches.
