Design the main lantern of a Taiwanese Lantern Festival for the Year of the Goat, about 13 metres tall, in the traditional craft manner, composed as an auspicious grouping of three. Build three goats of graduated size standing together on a hand-bent bamboo frame skinned in hand-painted silk, their fleece rendered as stylised spiral curls in gold outline rather than realistic wool. Paint the bodies in cream and pale gold with hand-brushed ruyi cloud and peony motifs along the flanks, and add decorative collars with tassels and bells. Light entirely from within with warm sources so the silk glows and the bamboo ribs read through it. Set them on a carved stone platform with relief panels of clouds and a calligraphic plaque reading auspicious characters above. Flank with tall poles of red palace lanterns and hanging banners. Show a warm night with dense crowds and lantern strings overhead. Photorealistic, warm, auspicious and finely crafted, eye-level view.
