斗栱（ときょう）：積み重ねられた木造構造

Render the exposed timber frame of a Taiwanese temple hall seen from within, built in the stacked-block manner. Show a column rising to a beam, and above that beam a short post seated on a squared block carrying the next beam, and again above that, so the frame climbs to the ridge as a series of stacked units rather than a triangular truss. Detail every block, post and beam as an individually shaped member, joined without visible nails, the shorter upper members progressively smaller. Show purlins running perpendicular across the frame carrying the rafters and the underside of the roof tiles. Finish the timber in dark red-brown with restrained gold on the carved ends of beams and blocks, and leave much of the structure plainly finished so the construction logic is readable. Include the ridge beam with a red cloth and a small painted inscription. Light from a courtyard opening at one end so the frame is backlit and deeply shadowed.
