Old Trees and Grandstands by the Campus Playground

Show the shaded edge of a Taiwanese school sports ground where a large old banyan grows beside a low spectator terrace. Render three or four tiers of painted concrete steps running along one side of the track, shallow and worn, doubling as seating and as a retaining edge for the higher ground behind. Set a mature banyan directly beside them, its trunk close enough that a root has lifted and cracked one step, its aerial roots hanging and its canopy covering the whole terrace in dense shade. Detail the steps honestly — chalky paint worn to bare concrete along the walking line, moss in the shaded joints, a painted class number faded on one riser. Show school bags dumped along the top step, water bottles, and a group of students sitting in the shade during a break with the sunlit track bright beyond them. Include a fence and a drainage channel at the foot of the steps. Light with strong midday sun so the contrast between deep tree shade and glaring track is the subject.
