Dark Theatre Boutique: A Single Light Source Display

Design a jewellery boutique interior in the manner of Jean Nouvel, where almost everything is dark and the products are the only light. Finish every surface in a deep matte black — walls, ceiling, floor and the display cabinetry — with a texture that absorbs light rather than reflecting it. Set display cases as deep black recesses in the walls, each lit only from within by a tight concealed source, so the pieces appear to float in pure darkness with no visible cabinet. Position them at irregular heights and intervals so the wall reads as a constellation. Add a single mirrored surface at one end doubling the effect into apparent infinity. Keep the seating to one dark leather bench, barely visible. Allow one deep saturated colour accent — an oxblood curtain or a bronze mesh screen — as the only relief. Show the space in near darkness with brilliant tiny points of light on the jewellery and faces lit by reflected glow.
