Minimalist Water Garden: One Water, One Stone, One Tree

Design a luxury hotel courtyard in the manner of Vladimir Djurovic, reduced to a few precise elements. Fill almost the entire court with a shallow reflecting pool of black-lined water, its surface absolutely still and level with the surrounding stone paving so the two planes read as continuous. Place a single monolithic block of rough-hewn stone rising directly out of the water, off-centre, its mass contrasting with the water's flatness. Set one mature tree with a sculptural branching form at the far edge, its canopy and trunk mirrored perfectly in the water. Keep the enclosing walls in a warm honed stone with fine joints and a precise coping, entirely blank. Detail a single straight stepping path of large stone slabs crossing the water, each slab a few millimetres above the surface. Allow no planting other than the tree, no furniture, no lighting fixtures visible. Show late afternoon with low light raking across the stone and the water perfectly mirroring the sky.
