Tropical Pool & Lawn: Framing Sea Views and Greenery

Design a beachfront resort pool terrace in the manner of Made Wijaya, framing the sea with dense tropical planting. Set a long pool with a dark stone lining parallel to the shore, its far edge infinity-spilling toward the horizon. Frame the view on both sides with heavy planting — clusters of coconut palms leaning at natural angles, frangipani with sculptural bare branches, and dense flowering shrubs in coral and magenta — so the sea appears as a framed picture rather than an open panorama. Keep a broad lawn of coarse tropical grass between the planting and the pool, with a few informal groups of timber loungers. Detail the pool coping in a rough volcanic stone and the paths in stone slabs with grass joints. Add a thatched bale pavilion with an open timber structure at one end, and a moss-covered stone statue half hidden in the planting.
