Japanese Warm Tatami Platform & Shoji Light

Render a contemporary tatami room inside a Taiwanese apartment, used as a flexible guest and family space. Build a raised platform about 25 centimetres high laid with tatami mats in a fresh pale straw tone, edged in a plain dark cloth border, with the platform edge in solid timber doubling as a bench for the adjoining room. Fit lift-up hatches in the platform revealing deep storage below. Enclose one side with full-height sliding screens of translucent paper in a slim timber grid, glowing softly with the daylight behind them. Keep the ceiling simple with exposed timber battens in a warm tone. Include a low timber table with floor cushions, a folded futon stacked neatly in an alcove, and a single hanging scroll or ink panel in a shallow recessed niche with one ceramic vessel below. Keep the palette to straw, warm timber, paper white and one deep indigo cushion. Show even diffused daylight through the screens.
