Desert Sun-Shading Bus Stop: Massive Volume and Deep Shadow

Design a bus shelter for an extremely hot arid climate, where shade is everything. Show a heavy mass of rammed earth or sand-coloured concrete with walls thick enough to hold the night's coolness, its form a simple block with a very deep recessed opening so the sun never reaches the interior. Detail a substantial roof slab oversailing far beyond the walls on all sides, its underside coffered to create additional self-shading and its edge thick and shadow-casting. Show a second lightweight screen standing slightly clear of the main mass on the sun side — a perforated screen with a geometric pattern — casting a shifting patterned shadow onto the wall behind and creating a ventilated cavity.
