Calm Proportions Flagship Store: Weight & White Space

Design a flagship store interior in the manner of David Chipperfield, where restraint reads as confidence. Compose the room from a small number of heavy elements in exact proportion: two solid stone display blocks, one full-height oak wall with flush concealed storage, and a single freestanding stone stair with no balustrade rising to a mezzanine. Keep the floor in a large-format warm limestone with fine joints, and the walls in a smooth lime plaster in a matching tone. Hang garments on slim bronze rails set into recesses in the oak wall so nothing projects. Detail every junction with a precise shadow gap and no visible fixings. Keep the ceiling entirely flat and unbroken with light from a perimeter cove only. Allow generous empty space — at least two thirds of the floor area with nothing on it. Add one bench of solid stone. Show soft even daylight from a tall window with a deep reveal. Photorealistic, weighty, calm and precisely proportioned, eye-level view across the empty floor.
