A Full Gable Mural: A Painting as Big as a Building

Design a large-scale mural covering the entire blind gable wall of a city building. Show a windowless brick flank some fifteen metres wide and twenty-five tall, exposed where an adjacent building was demolished, painted with one single continuous image running from pavement to parapet with no border, no frame and no signage. Detail the image as photographically realistic in its rendering but impossible in its content — an enormous portrait of an ordinary local resident gazing down, or a monumental botanical study of a single leaf, or a body of water standing vertically — so the realism makes the scale disorienting. Show the painting as respecting the wall it is on rather than covering it: the brick texture reading through the paint everywhere, the mortar courses visible across the image, and the old ghost outline of the demolished building's roofline and chimney breast left deliberately visible within the composition. Detail the paint as matte masonry emulsion with visible roller texture and slight lapping marks where sections were painted on different days. Show the wall's real condition at ground level — a service door, a downpipe, a row of bins — included and unretouched. Detail the buildings and street below for scale. Set it in a dense city.
