Year of the Pig Main Lanterns: Traditional Style - Prosperous Peonies and Bountiful Harvest

Design the main lantern of a Taiwanese Lantern Festival for the Year of the Pig, about 13 metres tall, in the traditional craft manner, themed on abundance. Build a standing pig on a hand-bent bamboo frame skinned in hand-painted silk, its body full and rounded, with a decorative saddle cloth in vermilion and gold across its back carrying a heaped basket of painted grain, fruit and coins. Paint the body in cream and blush with hand-brushed peony and ruyi cloud motifs in gold outline along the flanks. Add applied tassels, bells and a beaded collar. Light entirely from within with warm sources so the silk glows and the bamboo ribs show as fine lines. Set it on a carved stone platform with relief panels of grain and flowers, and a calligraphic plaque above with auspicious characters. Flank with tall poles carrying red palace lanterns and hanging banners. Show a warm night with dense crowds and lantern strings overhead.
