Seating Under Old Trees: A Raised Wooden Platform That Gives Way to Roots

Design seating beneath a large old park tree, arranged entirely around the demands of its roots. Show a timber deck raised on slim adjustable pedestals that touch the ground only at scattered points, hovering roughly two hundred millimetres above the soil so air and water still reach the root plate and nothing is compacted or paved over. Detail the deck's outline as irregular, notched and cut away wherever a major surface root rises, so the platform's plan is dictated by the tree rather than by geometry, with generous open gaps around each root.
