Mailboxes and Parcel Rooms: Designed Receiving Spaces

Design the mail and parcel room of a residential community as a proper piece of joinery rather than a bank of metal boxes on a wall. Show a full-height cabinet run in warm oak veneer with the mailbox fronts as flush panels of the same timber, each with a slim recessed brass pull and a small engraved number plate, so the wall reads as a calm timber grid. Detail a section of the run given over to parcel lockers of varying sizes, their fronts in a contrasting matte dark finish so the two systems are distinguishable at a glance. Show a generous shelf ledge running the full length at 950 millimetres for sorting post, with a slim light beneath the upper cabinet washing it.
