Green Skybridges: Integration of Planter Boxes and Structural Loads

Design a pedestrian bridge that carries planting as well as people. Show a deck wide enough for a continuous planter running along one side, its trough integrated into the structural edge beam rather than added on top, so the soil depth is achieved within the section depth without adding load above. Detail the planting as tough, wind-tolerant and shallow-rooted — ornamental grasses, low shrubs and trailing species spilling over the outer edge so the bridge reads as green from the road below. Show the irrigation honestly: a drip line visible at the soil surface, a supply pipe running within the parapet, and an access point with a small hatch at one end. Detail the drainage as a slotted outlet along the planter base discharging into a concealed pipe rather than dripping onto traffic. Show the walking side of the deck kept clear at full width with a tactile guidance strip. Include a seat set into a widened bay beside the planting.
