Arch Pedestrian Bridges: Lightweight Structures of Single Arch and Cable Stays

Design a pedestrian bridge carried by a single steel arch springing from both banks. Show the arch rising above the deck in a shallow continuous curve, built as a tapered box section that is deepest at the springing and slimmest at the crown, painted a pale off-white so it reads bright against the sky. Detail the deck as hanging from the arch by slender vertical rods at close regular centres, each rod a fine stainless bar with a compact fork connection, so the deck appears to float with no visible beam depth.
