Wooden Museum Cafe: Suspended Grille and Courtyard

Design a museum café in the manner of Kengo Kuma, where the ceiling dissolves into suspended timber. Hang thousands of slim timber rods from the structure at varying lengths, forming a soft undulating cloud that dips low over the seating and lifts near the glazing, so the ceiling has no measurable surface. Use a pale cedar with a natural finish. Open one full wall as frameless glazing onto a moss-and-gravel courtyard with a single maple, bringing green reflection into the room. Keep the floor in a pale grey stone with a cleft texture and the remaining walls in washi-like paper panels within slim timber frames. Furnish with low timber tables and simple chairs with woven paper cord seats, all in the same pale species. Set the counter as a single slab of pale stone. Light entirely from above the suspended rods so the timber glows and no fitting is visible. Show soft diffused daylight from the courtyard.
