Year of the Sheep Main Lantern・Tech Style: Layered White Volumes and Soft Light

Design the main lantern of a Taiwanese Lantern Festival for the Year of the Goat, about 15 metres tall, in a soft contemporary technology language. Build the goat's fleece from hundreds of individually mounted translucent discs of varying diameter, each on a short stem from an internal steel armature, so the body reads as a cloud of overlapping circles rather than a solid surface. Light each disc from behind with tunable LED programmed so a slow wave of warm white to pale gold travels across the field, making the fleece appear to breathe. Model the head and legs in smooth matte white composite with simple geometry, and the horns in polished brass-toned metal. Mount the whole on a low white circular base with a concealed uplight ring. Add gentle mist at ground level so light diffuses into the air. Set it in a plaza with a crowd photographing. Show a clear night with the disc field softly pulsing. Photorealistic, soft, luminous and contemporary, low eye-level view.
