Temple Plaza: Stage, Old Trees, and Daily Life

Render the open forecourt in front of a Taiwanese temple as the neighbourhood's living room. Show a broad paved plaza of grey stone slabs, worn smooth and slightly uneven, bounded by the temple facade on one side and low shophouses on the others. Place a permanent open-sided opera stage facing the temple across the plaza, its timber structure and tiled roof modest, currently empty with a rolled backdrop. Set a large old banyan at one edge with a circular stone bench around its trunk, its aerial roots reaching down and its canopy shading a third of the plaza. Show ordinary daily use rather than a festival: elderly residents playing chess at a folding table, a child on a scooter, laundry drying on a rack at the plaza edge, scooters parked in a row, a vendor's cart under the tree. Include the temple's stone lions and steps at one end, and a large incense burner. Light with warm late-afternoon sun and long shadows from the banyan. Photorealistic, lived-in, warm and ordinary, eye-level view across the plaza.
