Timber Lodge Lobby: Layers of Natural Materials

Design a boutique hotel lobby in the manner of Kengo Kuma, layering natural materials so no single surface dominates. Build a reception desk from a single rough stone block, place it against a backdrop of stacked timber battens receding in depth, and hang above it a screen of thin bamboo or timber rods suspended at varying lengths, filtering the view to the lounge beyond. Finish the floor in a warm grey stone with a cleft texture, and the remaining walls in washi-like paper panels within slim timber frames, glowing softly from behind. Furnish the lounge with low timber-framed sofas in undyed linen, a long low table of a single timber slab, and a floor of tatami-like matting in one zone. Add a small internal courtyard of moss, gravel and one tree visible through a full-height opening. Keep all lighting concealed, warm and low. Show soft diffused daylight from the courtyard and the paper walls. Photorealistic, quiet, layered and material-driven, eye-level view from the entrance.
