Resort Main Restaurant: Open Dining Under a Giant Roof

Design a resort main restaurant in the manner of Jean-Michel Gathy, dominated by a single vast roof. Show an enormous pitched or pyramidal roof structure of exposed dark timber rising to a great height above the diners, its underside expressed as a dramatic geometric pattern of beams converging toward the apex. Leave the sides entirely open to the landscape with only slim columns at wide spacing. Arrange dining tables symmetrically about a central axis that terminates in a framed view of water or mountains. Keep the floor in a dark honed stone continuing seamlessly out to the terrace. Furnish with simple dark timber tables and chairs, deliberately restrained so the roof dominates. Hang a small number of very large pendant lanterns at a scale matched to the roof rather than to the tables. Light warmly and sparingly, with the roof structure grazed by uplight so its geometry reads at night. Show early evening with the sky still bright beyond the open sides. Photorealistic, monumental, symmetrical and dramatic, eye-level view down the axis.
