Year of the Rabbit Main Lantern - Traditional Style: Jade Rabbit Pounding Medicine and Osmanthus Tree

Design the main lantern of a Taiwanese Lantern Festival for the Year of the Rabbit, about 12 metres tall, in the traditional craft manner, drawing on the moon-rabbit legend. Build a standing rabbit holding a pestle over a mortar on a hand-bent bamboo frame skinned in hand-painted silk, its posture upright and formal. Paint the silk in pearl white with fine gold outlining and delicate cloud and osmanthus-flower motifs hand-brushed across the body. Place behind it a large circular moon lantern of white silk over a bamboo hoop, glowing softly, with a stylised osmanthus tree in painted silk at one side. Light entirely from within with warm-white sources so the bamboo structure reads through the silk. Set the group on a raised platform with a carved timber balustrade and painted panels of clouds. Flank with red palace lanterns on tall poles. Show a warm night with crowds and hanging lantern strings. Photorealistic, delicate, warm and mythic, eye-level view.
