Art Collector's Hall: Bronze, Leather & Curios

Design a luxury hotel lobby in the manner of Peter Marino, built around a serious contemporary art collection. Treat the room as a gallery that happens to have furniture: a monumental commissioned sculpture on a plinth as the centrepiece, large-scale contemporary works on the walls, each individually lit by a precise concealed spot. Clad surfaces in luxurious hard materials — cast bronze panels with a hand-worked relief texture, honed dark stone, and one wall entirely in hand-stitched leather in a saddle tan. Furnish with a small number of custom pieces: a curved sofa in a deep charcoal mohair, two sculptural leather armchairs, a low bronze table. Keep the floor in a large-format dark stone with a matte finish. Allow generous empty space around every artwork and every piece of furniture. Light dramatically: bright on the art, dim elsewhere, with no visible fittings. Keep the palette bronze, charcoal, saddle tan and stone. Show evening interior lighting. Photorealistic, opulent, art-forward and controlled, eye-level view across the lobby.
