Visible Only From Above: Giant Ground Graphics

Design a land artwork drawn on the ground at a scale that makes it unreadable from within. Show a vast geometric figure inscribed across a flat open field some three hundred metres across — a spiral, a set of concentric arcs, a single enormous line drawing — executed by treating the ground itself rather than by building anything. Detail the technique as the contrast between two mown heights: the figure cut short to a bright pale green while the surrounding meadow is left long and darker with seed heads, so the drawing exists purely as a difference in texture and tone with nothing standing above ground level. Show the composition from high overhead so the figure resolves completely and its geometry is exact and satisfying. Detail the edges of the mown lines as crisp and precisely curved, a metre or two wide, with the cut grass left in fine windrows along them. Show the field's real conditions crossing the artwork indifferently — a farm track, a drainage ditch, a line of fence posts, a few trees — none of them acknowledged by the figure, which simply continues across them. Detail two tiny walkers standing on one of the lines, entirely unable to see the shape they are in. Set it in open farmland. Show low evening sun for long texture shadows.
